From Soil to Soul: The Aftermovie

On the 11th of November 2025 we launched Ample Kitchen in the wonderful Roof Gardens in central London. The perfect setting for our Soil to Soul event.

We gathered an amazing crowd of real change-makers from the world of sustainable, just, regenerative and ethically grown and produced food. Food is the conduit to regenerate our soils and our souls as both are inherently connected and we need both in order to tackle the current food crisis.

The recent Eat Lancet report shows how important food is not only to tackle all the planetary boundaries we’ve already crossed, but also the importance to our physical and mental health.

Our co-founder Leon Aarts  asked us to collectively put our stake in the ground. History has shown us time and time again that when a group of committed individuals come together, the crazy ones, they are the ones who can really turn the dial.

Gunhild Stordalen spoke about the findings of the 2025 EAT-Lancet Commission, a scientific update on what defines a healthy, sustainable, just food system in today’s world. She has led this commission through her passion and commitment to make change.

In a passionate and at the same time a stern warning Hugh Montgomery, Professor of Medicine and climate change expert, spoke about the implications of our food choices on our health and the long term consequences.

The event was led by Sarah Langford who, with her wealth of experience as a regenerative food and farming enthusiast, was the perfect host for our panel with Andy Cato of Wildfarmed, Nicole Pisani of Chefs in Schools, Sue Pritchard of the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission and Professor Greta Defeyter the best and most informed person in the whole country to speak about improving nutritional well-being and addressing poverty, food insecurity and social justice.

Steve Thomas, Ample CEO, and Dean Attwell, founder of Oakland International, spoke about their partnership and the commitment to create a true circular model.

The event ended with energetic networking in the bar overlooking London and samples of Ample’s food created by our Head of Food Kate Fortescue.

At Ample we are committed to put our stake in the ground and to grow our Soil to Soul movement of change-makers and ‘crazy-ones.’ Join our group to hear more and be first to find out about our next event.

Big thanks to Red Cherry for the aftermovie.
