Make green beans taste even fresher!

As we reach the peak of our summer season, many products are truly plentiful, thanks to the combination of sun and rain we've experienced. We'd like to share a couple of top tips with you:
Green beans are at their best when blanched by cooking them in plenty of salty boiling water, then drained thoroughly and refreshed with cold water. This technique helps them maintain their colour and freshness.
You can enhance this by waiting to trim the stalky ends until after cooking. If not, the beans behave like tubes and fill with water while cooking. Although it takes a bit more effort to remove the ends afterward, it's certainly worthwhile.
