We are delighted to share some brilliant news: Kate Fortescue has joined the Ample team as our new Head of Food Development! Kate started last week, and we know you will all join us in extending a very warm welcome.

Kate is no ordinary chef. She is a highly accomplished chef and consultant nutritionist, bringing a depth of knowledge about both the art and science of food. Adding an intriguing layer to her background, Kate retrained in food and nutrition after a first career as a barrister specialising in criminal law. This unusual path gives her a formidable skill set in research, development, and strategic communication.

Her passion for food and wellness began close to nature, growing up on a fruit farm in Gloucestershire. This connection fuels her commitment to sustainability, ecological issues, and ethical farming. These are values that align perfectly with Ample’s mission.

Communicating Our Vision

Beyond her culinary and nutritional expertise, Kate is also a well-known writer, contributing to major publications including The Telegraph and Evening Standard. She covers critical topics like food supply and sustainability, and we are excited for her to bring those strong communication skills to develop our public policy and communications strategies and to represent Ample at key industry events.

What Kate Will Be Working On

As Head of Food Development, Kate will be responsible for the end-to-end development of all Ample's food products, from recipe creation to ensuring exceptional quality.

Initially, she will be focused on the research, development, and rigorous testing of our new range of soups, sauces, and stews. In addition, Kate will be playing a big part in preparing for and executing our major Kitchen Launch event in November—a milestone event we can’t wait to share with you!
